A “monster” lobster was caught of the coast off of Gloucester, Massachusetts last week, with a photo of the catch posted on a local blog on Tuesday.

A man named Jacob, whose last name not was disclosed, found the lobster and posed with it.

“We caught and released this bad mother last week,” he wrote, according to the GoodMorningGloucester blog.

Jacob, who works on the Pretty Girl boat, posted a photo of him holding the large crustacean by its appendages.

It’s unclear exactly how heavy the lobster was, as they released it back into the ocean.

CBS Boston reported that the skipper of the Pretty Girl, Lou Williams, estimated the lobster weighed around 20 pounds.

The Bostino blog notes that restaurants “will typically serve a lobster that weighs 1.25 t0 1.5 pounds, so as to ensure the meat is tender and sweet. This beast’s crusher claw (the big one), weighs far, far in excess of that.”

The Massachusetts Lobstermens Association says that the largest lobster ever caught was 37.4 pounds and was reeled in off Cape Cod.
