Man Jailed for Fighting Police Who Won’t Let Him Bring Guns on Airplane
This Russian gentleman simply wanted to board his flight and be on his way—with his shotgun and pistol.
He couldn’t understand why police officers took his guns and denied him access. Being intoxicated, he also got a bit belligerent.
According to the Russian Federation Investigative Committee website, this 51-year-old resident of Yakutia was trying to carry his guns, a Benelli M2 shotgun and a Makarov MP-80 pistol loaded with rubber bullets, onto a flight out of Deputatsky Airport in northeast Russia on April 11.
The man has been charged with assaulting an officer and “insulting a government representative”—which is apparently an arrestable offense in Russia.
