Entertaining surveillance footage reveals a police officer babysitting a 2-year-old while her father appears in court for a traffic case. The footage is sure to warm anybody’s heart.
When Jose Moncayo was called in to appear for a case in traffic court on Jan. 27, 2016, his top priority was to find a babysitter for his then-2-year-old daughter, Abi. Unable to find one at short notice, Jose had to bring Abi into court with him. As Jose waited outside the courtroom for his turn to appear before the judge, his young one was obviously bored and got busy running around the hall and playing, like any normal fidgety 2-year-old would do.
It’s that age where you just can’t sit still, and Jose had to get up from the bench whenever she wandered out of sight. The surveillance camera picks up on Abi’s antics, and it’s entertaining to say the least.
Finally, when it was his turn to appear before the judge, he was told that he would not be permitted to bring in the kid. This wasn’t something Jose was expecting to happen. All of a sudden, he was facing the impossible situation of leaving a 2-year-old alone in the hallway.

Officer Kevin Norris happened to be sitting in the same hallway, had seen the 2-year-old run about, and knew her father had to go in without her. He was also waiting for his turn to be summoned into the courtroom. Being a father himself, Officer Norris understood the predicament Jose was in, and volunteered to babysit until Jose returned.
While Jose went in to face the judge, Abi had a ball with the magnanimous cop. The two walked around, held hands, made trips to the water fountain, and collected treats from the other court officials who were in the hallway.
Towards the end of the footage, we see little Abi cuddled up next to the uniformed officer on a bench, her head resting on his tummy as they watch cartoons, and gradually Abi falls asleep.

Later, Officer Norris told 2News, “I’ve got kids of my own, it’s hard taking them anywhere. We’re not just walking around to arrest people, we’re here to make the community better in any way we can.”
Many people commented on the entertaining yet very sweet footage after it was uploaded.
One YouTube user wrote, “How do children have so much energy they can basically run around till they drop dead.”
Another wrote: “Cheers to you sir. You serve your uniform well. Thank you.”
“This melted my heart,” wrote another.

Last week, Officer Norris was waiting to testify in a hearing when he saw a very rambunctious two year old waiting with her father (Who also had a court case) in the lobby. The father had a court case scheduled and was unable to leave the little girl at home. When it was time for his case to be heard he tried to take his daughter into court with him. However, kids are not allowed in the court room for various reasons and the girls father didn't know what to do…….That was until Officer Norris offered to babysit for the man. You'll see from the court surveillance video that the little girl took to Officer Norris as he walked her around, getting drinks of water and treats from the Deputies at the front door. He pulled up some cartoons on his cell phone and the little girl climbed up onto his lap and she must've been worn out from all running around she had done because she quickly fell asleep on Officer Norris' lap.You can tell that Officer Norris is a father first and police officer second!
