Beck reportedly turned down multiple offers to write the Mad Men theme.

In a Billboard interview, the American singer-songwriter claims he was approached several years ago for a cable TV series about “ad executives in the ‘60s.”

Beck doesn’t mention the AMC hit series by name, but he said, “Yeah, (it’s) just like the best show ever made!”

The current Mad Men theme is an instrumental version of “A Beautiful Mine” by RJD2.

The first half of Mad Men’s two season finale premieres April 13.
