Lizzy Yarnold, who won a gold medal in the women’s skeleton event, will carry the Great Britain flag in the closing ceremony at the Sochi Olympics.
Yarnold’s gold medal is one of only 10 in Britain’s history.
The 25-year-old will be joined by 55 teammates in the ceremony.
They include the men’s curling team, which won silver, and the women’s curling team, who won bronze.
Snowboarder Jenny Jones, who won silver in slopestyle, will also be among them.
Yarnold, who lives in Bath, told BBC:
“It’s been an indescribable experience here in Sochi. I came to these Games with the goal of competing to the best of my ability, doing my country proud, and supporting my team-mates across all of Team GB.
“To have been selected for this honour is so far beyond anything I could have ever imagined. It makes what has already been an incredible experience just that much more special, and I am extremely grateful.”
