Liam Hemsworth is speaking out for the first time since his recent split from Miley Cyrus.

Hemsworth broke his silence in an Instagram post, nearly eight months after the two tied the knot in December.

“Hi all,” the 29-year-old wrote on Instagram on Aug. 12. “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets.”

“Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love,” he ended his post.

His post comes a day after Miley Cyrus seemingly addressed the separation in a series of posts about nature and change.

“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win. Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable,” she captioned two photos of herself atop a mountain.

She went on to give a brief history of how “Dolomites were not created over night” but “over millions of years.”

“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’…. it fills my heart with peace and hope KNOWING that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own,” she concluded.

In December, both Cyrus and Hemsworth posted black-and-white versions of the same photo on the same day, confirming the wedding rumors.

Cyrus, 26, captioned the photos of the sweet embrace, “12.23.18” and, “10 years later… .” And on a photo of the couple kissing, the singer wrote, “This is probably our one-millionth kiss.”

Hemsworth also shared the same photo, captioning it, “My love.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the film set of “The Last Song” where they co-starred as love interests. Soon, their on-screen romance blossomed off-screen as well, and by March 2010, the two announced that they were dating.

In 2012, the two got engaged, but then broke it off a year later. That’s also when the “Wrecking Ball” Miley came on the scene. Two years later, in 2015, the two rekindled their romance and by 2016 they were engaged once more.

Fans started freaking out when author Nicholas Sparks wrote on Twitter about the wedding: “This makes me so happy. Congratulations @MileyCyrus and @LiamHemsworth. #TheLastSong”
