Kashmiri Kahwah, a green tea-based hot drink, is very popular during the winter in Kashmir across India and Pakistan. Traditionally, kahwah is served in a samovar, a traditional, beautifully crafted heated metal container with a coal chamber. Kashmiris drink kahwah almost all day long in the winter.
Green cardamom pods

Sweetener/sugar to taste
Boil a cup of water.
When the water is about to boil, add a very small piece of cinnamon and three green cardamom pods to the water.
Turn off the heat as soon as the water boils and immediately add half a spoonful of green tea leaves and a few strands of saffron. Let rest for two minutes.
Pound five almonds and put them into a small bowl or cup. (Traditionally kahwa is drunk in small bowls or tiny, shallow cups)
Gently pour the decoction through a sieve. Serve hot.
