Like a burst of fireworks dancing upon your finger, Lakshikaa Jewels in Mumbai, India, has labored to produce a record-breaking diamond ring that glitters like nobody’s business.

The ambitious jeweler was recognized by Guinness World Records after creating a ring beset with 7,777 round, brilliant-cut, natural diamonds. With a two-tone 18-karat white-and-rose gold base, the dazzling adornment is valued at $4.9 million according to the famed recorder.

The impressive ring took a team of 12 crafters and 1 jeweler and designer 18 months to complete before winning the record for the “most diamonds set in one ring.”

The precious piece of hardware features an innovative design inspired by India’s rich spiritual heritage. The ring’s head is modeled after the Lotus Temple in Delhi. The lotus flower is a sacred symbol in several of India’s religions, imbuing the design with a sense of unity.

“I couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to celebrate human ingenuity and spirituality than this temple,” said the founder of Lakshikaa Jewels Naveen “Prince” Bhandari, who headed up the multimillion-dollar ring project.

“India has a long and rich history of jewelry-making,” Bhandari adds. “Our Maharajas and Maharanis would hire the best artists of their time to create jewelry worthy of their stature. Since then, Indians have inherited a fondness for jewelry and an eye for craftsmanship, which is unparalleled in the world.”

Bhandari explained the jeweler’s intention for creating the record-setting ring:

“When I started designing the ring, the Guinness World Record was simply not on my mind,” he said, per Jewelry Focus. “I wanted to explore the beauty of architecture in diamonds. Going forward, I’m going to continue to explore iconic landmarks, such as the Seven Wonders of the World, Antilla and Burj Khalifa and others, in the form of jewelry and models.”

However, the record will go a long way to elevating Lakshikaa’s prominence on the world stage.

“Guinness World Records means international recognition. As a jewelry house, Lakshikaa Jewels aims to make an international name for itself.

“The record title is an acknowledgement of our craftsmanship, design and capabilities. It’s truly an honour [sic] to have received this title.

“We hope our feat inspires other jewelry designers to create newer records and establish greater achievements.”

Guinness reported that Lakshikaa Jewels has ensured that all of the diamonds used for the project are conflict free, which is required for all records related to diamonds.

The “Lotus Temple Ring” is set to be auctioned off soon, Jewelry Focus reports.
