Jennifer Lopez, the singer and actress, has not died, but thousands of Twitter users are saying otherwise.
“#RIPJenniferLopez” was trending on Monday afternoon, but there’s no credible media reports about her death.
It appears that the hoax originated on Twitter.
Lopez uploaded a photo of her a few hours ago on Instagram at an awards show.
“Why #RIPJenniferLopez is trending?” wrote one person.
Added another, “Whoever started this #RIPJenniferLopez trend I’ll find you & kill you!”
In the past few weeks, “#RIPJustinBieber” and “#RIPZaynMalik”–referring to Zayn Malik of One Direction–both trended.
