Music mogul Jay-Z, 40, joined forces recently with athletic shoe brand Nike in support of his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation charity.
During Nike’s four day World Basketball Festival in New York, where Jay-Z performed on opening night, the dynamic duo also teamed up to create an “iconic collection of Air Force Ones—the All Black Everything collection inspired by the World Basketball Festival”—according to a statement on Nike’s website.
The shoes were then donated to the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, which then put them on eBay for an 11-day online auction to raise funds.
The mission of the organization is to give financial help to individuals showing high potential after acceptance into any accredited institution of higher learning.
The online auction runs from August 12 to 22.
