Outspoken conservative actor James Woods revealed on Twitter that he was dropped by his agent due to his political views.

The actor tweeted and attached a screenshot of an email from his agent Ken Kaplan on July 4th, which read, “It’s the 4th of July and I’m feeling patriotic. I don’t want to represent you anymore. I mean I could go on a rant but you know what I’d say.”

Woods later wrote another tweet in response to his talent agent, suggesting that if Kaplan was feeling patriotic, he would “appreciate free speech and one’s right to think as an individual.”

Kaplan’s true reason for dropping the Oscar-nominated actor is still unclear. However, Woods has been a big supporter of President Trump, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In August 2017, the actor wrote in a tweet, “I’ve never witnessed such hatred for a man who is willing to work for free to make his beloved country a better place. It is pathological.”
