KANSAS CITY, Mo.—The spirituality and artistry of Shen Yun Performing Arts were just two aspects of the show that impressed dance director Mr. Jeremiah Enna and his wife Mrs. Mona Störling Enna, who attended Wednesday evening’s presentation at Kansas City Music Hall. “I’ve been looking for this for years!” Mr. Enna excitedly said.

Mr. Enna is a recipient of the Carol Burnett Award for his work in musical theater. He is co-founder and director of The Culture House. As a dance professional, he shared, “It’s extremely beautiful to watch.”

He explained that he had eagerly anticipated the world-renowned shows’ return to Missouri. “I’ve heard about Shen Yun for a couple of years and I’ve heard it was excellent, so I’ve been looking forward to coming and seeing it. I’m enjoying it very much.”

Shen Yun was founded in 2006 with a mission to revive the true spirit of traditional Chinese culture.

Mr. Enna appreciated this, and added that he found the performances educational. “I’m a producer for dance and theater and I’m a choreographer—I am learning a lot about how Chinese culture tells stories and express themselves. It’s very beautiful. I’ve been so looking forward to coming and seeing this.”

Professional choreographer Mona Enna was impressed by the dances. She said, “I think it’s wonderful. The dancers are of such a high level! I’m a professional dancer and choreographer and I can just see the high level—how precise they are in their movements. The choreography is just wonderful.”

As Co-founder of The Culture House and Artistic Director for Störling Dance Theater, Mona Enna has choreographed such productions as Between Earth & Sky, Sower, Parables & Prayers, and, The Prodigal Daughter.

The performance, Our Story, which depicts a true story in contemporary China, in which a teacher is killed for her spiritual beliefs resonated deeply with the couple. Mrs. Enna said, “Our Story is so powerful, very moving, powerful".

Mr. Enna echoed his wife’s feelings and added, “It was very moving, very thought provoking. I enjoyed it very much. It’s extremely beautiful to watch.”
