The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) under the United Nations, Yukiya Amano, said on Monday the agency could not confirm that all nuclear material in Iran is being used for peaceful activities. Amano made his comments following Iran’s expulsion of two key nuclear inspectors.

According to Amano, the move hinders investigation into the country’s nuclear activity. “I express my full confidence in the professionalism and impartiality of the inspectors concerned,” he said addressing the IAEA in Vienna.

In its latest report the IAEA states that Iran has not suspended its nuclear enrichment related activities. On Monday, U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on Iran to cooperate to the “fullest extent possible,” according to U.N. news release.
