NTDTV’s Third Global Chinese Han Couture Design Competition is set to begin in October in New York. Hong Kong supermodel Louise Wong is excited about the event and wishes to wear Han couture one day in a fashion show.

The 21 year-old model is a typical tall girl from northern China. She’s 5’11” and won first place in the 2006 Elite Model Look Asia-Pacific Final. She’s been active in the modeling industry since then.

Wong was appointed the official model for the 17th Hong Kong Fashion Festival Spring/Summer Series at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on July 5-8.

During this time, she learned about NTDTV’s Global Chinese Han Couture Design Competition in New York. She believes that it is a great opportunity to show the western world the traditional Chinese couture culture. “It promotes the uniqueness of Chinese culture and allows Westerners to understand it. I wish the activity great success and one day many foreigners will wear our clothes,” said Wong.

Wong is appreciative of Han Couture, especially designs from the Tang Dynasty. “Even a little girl’s costume has good taste. It makes me feel comfortable and pure.”

Wong has never seen a Han Couture fashion show. After learning that last year there were 12 models on stage wearing the prize-winning Han costumes from NTDTV’s Competition in New York Fashion Week, she was excited. “I hope to wear the Han couture on the runway. Really, Han couture is elegant and unique.”
