Group effort accomplishes heartwarming rescue dogs trapped for 3 days in well
All around the world, people have dropped everything to help an animal in need of rescue, just like what happened Jan. 18.
A 40-year-old man, Lek Phatieeb, who lives in a village near Chonburi Province, Thailand, heard the whining of two dogs for three days and decided to follow the noise to see the source of the sound.
Lek told Newsflare the stray brown and black Aspin breed of dogs moved very little due to lack of food and water for more than 72 hours.
According to Newsflare, Lek notified rescuers to help get the dogs out of the well from Sawang Prateep Sriracha Rescue. They managed to save the dogs from the pits of the well.
After the team assembled, they quickly got to work to rescue the dogs. An officer who assisted in the rescue tied a rope around himself and went into the hole. Using a makeshift winch, the officer rescued the first dog from the well and pulled them up. The dogs showed that they were scared and had no energy.
Lek told Newsflare she gave them water and brought them to an animal hospital for a checkup. She said she recognized the dogs from the street near her home.
“I thought that the mother was giving milk to her baby, so I didn’t call her to bother her until I heard very loud howling noise from the field,” Lek told Newsflare. “I’m so happy that they are still alive. I could have been worse for them if the well had water. I’m thankful for all rescuers who were willing to spend their time to help them.”
The dogs made it out alive, and the rescuers who helped them can feel good about the deed they accomplished by saving a mom and her pup.
