NEW YORK—Dogmatic is changing the unhealthy reputation of hot dogs in their just-opened West Village location.

The company moved from its Union Square restaurant location after its humble beginnings in 2006 as a food cart in Bleecker Street Park.

The team behind Dogmatic includes a former Olive Garden CEO, Brad Blum; and Nikki Cascone of Top Chef.

The restaurant is a quick-service eatery that serves healthy hot dogs and burgers, using grass-fed beef and pasture-raised lamb that are all hormone-free. Sauce choices include: cheddar, jalapeno, horseradish, chimichurri, and truffle gruyere.

Regular hot dogs are $3.95; the Dogmatic Dogs range from $4.95 to $5.65.

For healthy sides, they serve “non-fried fries,” which are air-baked Yukon Golds ($2.95).
