Prince Harry Marks a Quarter Century

The red-headed royal and son of the late Princess Diana, His Royal Highness Prince Harry, celebrated his 25th birthday on Tuesday. At this particular age, the young prince becomes eligible to access a portion of his inheritance. Third in line to the throne, Prince Harry has lived his life in a fishbowl with the luxuries and faults that come with his position. A lieutenant in the British Army, he seems quite dedicated to his military career at this point in his life. He spent his birthday in pilot training in the Royal Air Force.

Kiefer Sutherland to Mold Budding Actors

Actor Kiefer Sutherland is “honored” to have been named chairman of a new actors conservatory in Toronto. The school, opening this month at Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Center, will include master classes and performance workshops. The actor said in a statement, “The Actors Conservatory will have significant influence on the professional and creative lives of the actors attending and on our industry.”

Lifetime Achievements of Betty White to be Celebrated

Actress Betty White, most famous for her roles in “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Golden Girls,” will receive the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, the organization announced on Tuesday. In a statement, Screen Actors Guild National President Alan Rosenberg said, “Whether creating some of television’s most indelible characters, plunging into film roles with joyous gusto or perfecting the art of the quip as a television panelist and host, Betty White has entertained audiences with her impeccable comic timing and remarkable wit for more than sixty years.”

Broadway Heavyweights Take the Stage in Illinois

Tony Award winners Patti LuPone and Brian Stokes Mitchell will perform at the 2010 Ravinia Festival in Illinois next summer in a concert rendition of Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun.” The duo, with the help of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, will be celebrating the 150th anniversary of Annie Oakley’s birth. The show goes on from August 13-15.

Jessica Simpson Offers Reward for Missing Dog

Singer/actress Jessica Simpson has lost her beloved 5-year-old Maltese-poodle. The star described witnessing a coyote snatch the pup on Twitter, saying, “My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR! We are searching. Hoping. Please help!” She went on to attach a missing poster with a picture and e-mail address, reading, “reward offered.”
