Twitter erupted in frustration on Friday afternoon after Google Drive went down for just about everyone.
UPDATE as of 4:35 p.m. ET: Google Drive is back up!
The website went down at around 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
Google issued a statement via Twitter, saying it’s aware of the problem.
We know something’s up with Drive for the moment. Rest assured, we’re on it and we’ll update soon.

The error message reads:
“Sorry, the file you have requested does not exist.
Please check the address and try again.
Get stuff done with Google Drive
Apps in Google Drive make it easy to create, store and share online documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more.
Learn more at drive.google.com/start/apps.”
Websites Isitdownrightnow.com and Downdetector.com indicated Drive was down. “The website is currently suffering service disruption,” one said.
But Twitter users were more emphatic.
Since Google Drive is down I think I have a pretty good excuse as to why I didn’t do my homework😂

Hey @GoogleDrive, this “file does not exist” message is a fantastic way to terrify your users during an outage. pic.twitter.com/WNg0tMuYRt

Maybe if @googledrive is down, it shouldn’t include something about productivity in the error message. pic.twitter.com/AyQFZbvVlI
