If you are looking to share your Thanksgiving in New York City by serving others, either by donating time, food, money, or supplies, there are several places in looking to connect with you. Listed below are but a few places needing help. Please call these organizations first to work out the details of your volunteerism.

The Bowery Mission
Located at 227 Bowery, in NYC’s Lower East Side, the Mission has filled their volunteer slots for the year, but is still seeking donations of money, Thanksgiving food, and health & hygiene supplies for clients. Visit bowery.org or call (212) 674-3456 for more information.

St. John’s Bread & Life
Located at 795 Lexington Avenue in Bed-Stuy, St. John’s Thanksgiving falls on Nov. 23, and is an all-day affair. They need helpers to clean, unpack food, and greet visitors, as well as donations of food and money. Visit breadandlife.org or call (718) 574-0058 for more information.

New York Cares
Located at 214 West 29th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenue, New York Cares is the city’s largest volunteer organization in the city. There are quite a few programs to volunteer in during Thanksgiving Week. Make time for the one-hour orientation before signing up. You can book a time online. Yorkville Common Pantry
Located at 8 East 109th Street, between Fifth and Madison Avenues in Harlem, the Pantry’s Thanksgiving falls in Nov. 23. Volunteers are needed to serve food and distribute groceries to their clients. Visit ycp.org or call (212) 410-2264 for more information.
