A 26-year-old lifestyle vlogger, Victoria Birch has built an impressive fanbase on YouTube with funny and lighthearted videos that also raise awareness about her sister’s rare condition, Williams syndrome, a development disorder that affects many parts of the body. In 2018, fans insisted she produce a makeover video with her younger sibling; the resulting viral clip is not only heartwarming but also showcases the truly special bond and love between them.

Since 2012, Victoria has been running a popular YouTube channel and has developed a social media following for her amusing videos, which also feature her little sister, Alexandra.

One of the most popular videos on her channel is called “Doing my Sister’s Hair and Make-up,” which was filmed on request of Victoria’s fanbase she lovingly calls “The Birch Family” and has gone massively viral amassing over 3 million views. The video not only features an amazing transformation of Alexandra but also highlights the loving bond the sisters share.

The clip starts with the sister-duo joking around about Alexandra’s hair being hard to brush. Then Victoria applies dry shampoo on it. During the video, Alexandra makes some humorous remarks, and the two share an interesting conversation.

As Victoria expertly applies layers of makeup on Alexandra, their conversation becomes even more heartwarming. The then-veterinary-nurse student recalls the first time her younger sister went to Williams syndrome camp and shares, “you didn’t want to come home, because you were having so much fun, and you met so many friends.” She then explains that Alexandra has friends with Williams syndrome from “all over the US and England.”

After Alexandra’s makeup is completed, her older sister starts to do her hair. She recalls a time when she accidentally burned Alexandra’s hair with a straightener. The video filmed was the first time Victoria was allowed to style her sister’s hair. During the hair-styling process, the two have a hilarious discussion about Victoria having kids one day.

Once the makeover is complete, Alexandra looks almost unrecognizable. As Victoria puts it, she looks “so pretty!”

The bond the siblings share is clear to see, not just from the video but also from both their social media presence. In one of her vlogs, Victoria explains, “We don’t struggle because she has Williams syndrome. It’s not a burden our family has to figure out how to deal with.”
According to the US National Library of Medicine, Williams syndrome is characterized by mild to moderate intellectual disability or learning problems, and unique personality traits. Those with the syndrome also have “distinctive facial features, and heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) problems.”

This genetic condition is present at birth and can affect anyone.

In September 2019, the sisters did an interview with Special Books by Special Kids discussing their close bond the two share.
In another touching video, the sisters discuss challenges Alexandra faces due to her condition and the joys it’s brought. When asked how she describes Williams syndrome, Victoria poignantly stated that “I feel like all of her Williams syndrome friends that I’ve met… They’re all very innocent, and they’re all very happy. Yeah, it’s like, even if they’ve grown, they’re just these innocent little souls.”

On March 24, 2020, the siblings took on a blindfold makeup challenge in which Victoria did Alexandra'a makeup with a blindfold on her eyes.
