There’s been speculation that Samsung could be readying a “Galaxy S6” slated for release in the coming months.

After an earnings call this week, The Wall Street Journal reported that the firm will release two high-end smartphones in the next six months.

The report has prompted rumors that the S6 would be coming out within that timeframe.

“It’s unclear whether a new device, boasting different materials or a new form factor, will move the needle for Samsung. The company said repeatedly Thursday that it is investing in flexible devices. Last year, Samsung released the curved-screen Galaxy Round — but that was a niche product, valued more for its ability to showcase a new technology than to drive sales,” the Journal wrote.

PC Advisor in a report before that said there hasn’t been any official word from Samsung on a Galaxy S6, but added that “it’s extremely unlikely to arrive this year.”

The Galaxy S5 released earlier in 2014, and it’s likely that Samsung won’t release a successor to that phone in 2014, as smartphone makers tend to release one per year.

As PC Advisor notes, the S6 could have a flexible or curved display. It also might be 5.5 inches, whereas the Galaxy S5 is 5.1 inches.

“Under the bonnet we think the Galaxy S6 will be powered by one of Qualcomm’s 64-bit processors (Android L will support 64-bit) which have already been announced and scheduled to arrive inside devices in the first half of 2015,” it says. It also speculated that the phone will use the Snapdragon 808 or the Snapdragon 810.
