Rallies supporting Russian photojournalist Andrey Stenin rolled through Argentina this weekend.
Buenos Aires is just one of several major cities in Argentina that took part in the #FreeAndrew events. Buenos Aires, the Argentina capital, hosted an exhibition of Stenin’s photographs that he had made while working in hot spots internationally.
In the Argentine coastal city of Mar del Plata, the Russian community met to discuss the missing journalist and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. In Rosario, the third most populated city in Argentina, people gathered in the central plaza with banners calling for the Russian reporter’s release.
The Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in Argentina called on the Ukraine government to work to find Stenin.
The Russian photographer went missing on August 5 in eastern Ukraine while working for Rossiya Segodnya news agency. An experienced war photographer, Stenin was covering the Ukraine operation against the anti-Kiev rebels in Donetsk and Lugansk.
Three weeks since his disappearance, Stenin’s whereabouts remain unknown and Kiev is remaining silent.
