Footage Goes Viral of Van ‘Stoppie’ That Nearly Didn’t Stop
Footage has emerged of a van pulling a move normally reserved for motorbikes and cycles.
The dangerous stunt, known as a “stoppie”, carried out in the middle of a public street, as cars pass in the other direction, nearly goes horribly wrong.
It was caught in the early hours of Sunday morning, Jan. 28, by a bystander in Christchurch, New Zealand, according to Caters.
The video, later obtained by Caters, quickly went viral after being posted to social media, racking up over 120,000 views.
“We thought it was going to flip and we would have to push it back over,” said the person who filmed the video.
“Obviously there is a probably a little danger in it but he was just having fun and no one was hurt.”
“There was no one running out in the road or anything like that. So there was no harm done.”
Police said that they are aware of the footage, and would follow up as appropriate.
