KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s last performance in Kaohsiung on April 10 drew a full house. The artists answered three curtain calls and the cheers and applause continued.

Folk dance teacher Chen Tsu-Ying was one of the excited audience members. “I told my students that I wish one day we could do something like this. The performance was fantastic!

“Not wanting to miss the show, we booked Shen Yun’s tickets four months ago,” said Ms. Chen who has been coming to see Shen Yun for the past five years. She said she adores Shen Yun’s display of colors, the music and the dance.

Every one of her students who watched the performance said that they wanted to come back next year.

Ms. Chen specializes in 56 Chinese folk dances. She believes that Shen Yun’s dancing performance is perfect and full of kindness. “Every artist did their best and they have very good fundamental skills. The Cloud Maidens created the atmosphere that does not exist in the human world, with the celestial palace deep in the clouds. It was terrific! Absolutely wonderful!”

“The performance precisely expressed the essence of Shen Yun,” concluded Ms. Chen, referring to the meaning of Shen Yun, which in context translates as “the beauty of divine beings dancing,” according to the company's website.
