Fire Injures 12 in Queens

[xtypo_dropcap]S[/xtypo_dropcap]even residents and five firefighters were injured in a house fire on 169-11 89th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, early Sunday morning. All 12 injured people were taken to the hospital.

The fire took nearly an hour to put out, and the superintendent of the building suffered severe burns on his shoulders.

According to CBS News, the fire ignited in the basement and did not spread to other locations, although heavy smoke filled the entire three-story the building.
