Final Fantasy XV, according to Square Enix’s Project Manager Kaei Sou, is going to be at least partly outsourced overseas.

This isn’t necessarily a good thing or a bad thing for fans, but it does mean that there still will be a long wait until we see Final Fantasy XV’s release.

Final Fantasy XV is the next installment in the Final Fantasy series. It is the longest awaited Final Fantasy game to date, as it has been undergoing development since 2006 when it was unveiled alongside Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy Agito VIII.

It is part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis subseries. It is to be noted, though, that it shares no common characters and even takes place in a different world than the other games in the subseries.

It is an action-RPG mixed with a first-person shooter. The cutscenes in this game are interactive, so the player doesn’t lose control. The game seems to have a darker and more realistic feel to it than its predecessors.

The release date is still unannounced. One thing is for sure, though: it won’t be out anytime before March of this year; Square Enix released the game titles that will be out before this year, and unfortunately Final Fantasy XV was not on the list.

Stay tuned.
