Italian car manufacturer Ferrari announced Wednesday that it is recalling all of the 458 Italia sports cars produced before July this year.
The recall comes after six Ferrari 458 Italias were involved in accidents in which four caught fire.
Around the world 1,248 cars will be recalled, according to AFP. “High outside temperatures and intensive use of the vehicle cause a distortion and the vehicle catches fire,” a spokesman of Ferrari told AFP.
The car made its debut last September; the $260,000 super-car can accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in a little over three seconds, and has a top speed in excess of 200 miles per hour.
