Tony Bobulinski, the former business partner of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, said he welcomes the recently announced GOP investigation into the First Family’s business endeavors, hoping it will corroborate his long-running claim that the president lied when he said he had no role in his son’s foreign business dealings.

Bobulinski, a Navy veteran and former CEO of SinoHawk holdings, a business in which Hunter Biden was involved, said in an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity that the probe is “good news” because it stands to lend credence to his earlier allegations that, when the president denied involvement in his son’s business operations, it was a “blatant lie.”

Shortly before the 2020 presidential election, Bobulinski came forward with a series of explosive disclosures prompted by messages discovered on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Among them was correspondence involving Hunter Biden where a 10-percent cut from a Chinese business deal would be “held by H for the Big Guy.”

‘The Big Guy’

In a statement to media outlets in October 2020, Bobulinski said that “Big Guy” was a reference to then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.

“Hunter Biden called his dad ‘the Big Guy’ or ‘my Chairman,’ and frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing,” Bobulinski wrote at the time.

“The Biden family aggressively leveraged the Biden family name to make millions of dollars from foreign entities even though some were from communist controlled China,” Bobulinski further alleged.

Hannity asked Bobulinski during the interview whether he knows “for a fact” that the “Big Guy” reference in messages found on Hunter Biden’s laptop was a reference to the U.S. president.

“It’s crazy that we’re actually still talking about this two years after I’ve come public—a 1,000 percent Joe Biden is the ‘Big Guy,’” Bobulinski replied.

“The good news is Congressman [James] Comer and Congressman [Jim] Jordan have troves of documents that will corroborate all this,” Bobulinski added.

Both the president and his son have denied any wrongdoing and the elder Biden said during his final debate against then President Donald Trump that “I have not taken a penny from any foreign source ever in my life.”

Bobulinski insists this is false.

“I think the American people are going to see those facts. I think they’re going to be shocked by those facts. And hopefully justice is served,” he told Hannity.

Republicans Launch Probe

Reps. James Comer (R-Ky.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced on Nov. 17 that the House Oversight Committee will investigate whether the president was involved in his son’s business dealings, claims that the elder Biden has denied.

Comer, who is the incoming chairman of the Oversight Committee, said at a press conference that, contrary to the president’s claims, whistleblower evidence shows that the elder Biden was involved in his son Hunter’s international business dealings.

“This is an investigation of Joe Biden, the president of the United States, and why he lied to the American people about his knowledge and participation in his family’s international business schemes,” Comer said.

The White House has pushed back on the newly-launched probe, calling it a politically-motivated hit job.

Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s office, issued a critical statement and announced that he would begin sharing “the facts” on his official work account on Twitter.

“Instead of working with President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, congressional Republicans’ top priority is to go after President Biden with politically-motivated attacks chock full of long-debunked conspiracy theories,” Sams said in a statement while accusing Republicans of “wasting time and resources on political revenge.”

Besides denying involvement in his son’s business dealings, Biden last week brushed off the prospect of a GOP probe into his family, saying, “Lots of luck in your senior year, as my coach used to say.”

Republicans have long accused some media outlets of suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story and of downplaying allegations that the president lied when he said he had no involvement in his son’s overseas business dealings.

“For years the media has covered for the Biden family. That ends soon. Real accountability is finally coming,” Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), who is about to become the House majority leader, said in a post on Twitter.
Besides announcing the probe, Republicans released a report (pdf) on Nov. 17 outlining allegations of federal crimes committed by or to the benefit of the Biden family.

Comer said that the alleged crimes include conspiracy to defraud the United States, wire fraud, violation of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Action, tax evasion, money laundering, and violations of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

The investigation launch comes as Republicans prepare to take control of the House on Jan. 3, 2023.
