TAICHUNG, Taiwan—Mr. Chen, founder and director of a martial arts association, is a fan of Shaolin martial arts. On March 4, he came to Hui-Sun Auditorium to watch the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) 2009 World Tour performance.

“It blended dance and music in a way that dramatically helps in promoting and preserving our culture,” said Mr. Chen upon watching the show.

Mr. Chen said that the performance brought an “elevation of mankind’s culture. We should uphold the content of the performance and pass it to every corner of the world. We should let the world know how magnificent Chinese culture is.”

“American [based company] Divine Performing Arts conveyed strength, beauty, truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance. DPA mentioned the highest purpose that mankind pursues and many issues that religious communities have been discussing. It displayed inner meaning and rich scenes. It was very astounding.”

He said that he personally teaches and performs martial arts. “This performance brought me great inspiration, namely, martial arts performance can be very diverse. For example, literature, fine arts, dance, and music can all blend together and enrich people’s lives and cultural understanding.”
