‘One of the most vibrant shows I’ve ever seen’

SAN FRANCISCO—The Chinese New Year Spectacular amazed Mr. Young, an audience member from the financial industry. He said he "Absolutely loved it; it was probably one of the most vibrant shows I've ever seen before, with all the colors; especially seeing the folklore and so forth, bringing it to life. Because you read about it, and you see it in the movies but for it to be interpreted without actually saying anything is completely on its own level. It's not something you would typically see everyday, and they did an excellent job. The company did a wonderful job bringing it to life, and it was just mind-blowing, almost."

Mr. Young is half Chinese and half Japanese, raised in the United States, and was a little bit familiar with the folk stories in the show. "I was familiar with maybe, about half of it. But again, you see, it's the stuff you see in the movies and so forth, so it kind of loses its actual value, but it's great to be passed along like this."

"I really like the Spring [dance], [Welcoming Spring]—just the colors, the colors were so vibrant."

The changing background made it seem like "the trees bloomed at the same time they flipped over-that was my favorite piece too. Very vibrant!"
