“Oh yes, the costumes for representing the different areas of China, and the people, and the attitude and belief system. It’s well done, bravo, bravo.”

“Bravo, bravo,” said Alexis Nicol, a ballerina of 17 years, who was at the Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour presentation held at San Diego’s Civic Theater.

She was there with her husband, John Balse, a senior aircraft engineer and her mother, an attorney, Dianne Sipe.

Ms. Nicol enthused: “It is beautiful, there is so many liquid movements and grace, and colors that are spectacular. This is the first time I have seen a computer used as a backdrop to make the imagination go.”

When asked she enjoyed the integration of the backdrop and stage, she said: “Oh absolutely, it’s phenomenal because you get a sense of fluidity [of] space and time, and a lot of activity. Oh absolutely, very good, very good show. Thank you for bringing it to San Diego, so calming, so stirring at the same time, its beautiful music, listen to this Chinese music, how calming and serene it can be.”

...“And so well rehearsed, I mean it is excellent, spectacular. I was an attorney, I felt it brought you back, not only did it bring you back to the spiritual aspect, but what you can accomplish.

Ms Nicol said: “Ballet may be a nice start, but to learn obviously hundreds or even thousands of different moves that are done slow and held for emotion, (sigh), nothing can touch this, nothing.

“It’s wonderful. I did ballet for 17 years, this is much more demanding, much more sophisticated, much more moving and expressive than any ballet.

“It’s well done, bravo, bravo.”

Her husband John Balse agreed.

“I think it’s fabulous, very elegant, and very colorful, I love the music, the costumes, the tumbling, you know the dancing, and I am really looking forward to the second half of the show, it’s very, very nice, absolutely it’s gorgeous.”

San Diego will be host to three more shows over the weekend.
