PASADENA, Calif.—On January 3rd, Pasadena's Civic Auditorium filled with the resounding applause of impressed audience members.

"I really loved it, I really loved it! It was great to see Asian cultures on stage in Pasadena,"

said Mr. Lee, a senior member of a major Asian-language newspaper. "There were so many beautiful cultural aspects of it. So as an Asian-American I really enjoyed the show."

When asked what really stood out during this performance, Mr. Lee replied.

"I was really glad to see different minorities represented in the show. Not just mainland Chinese, but some of the minorities from different parts of China. I was really glad to see some of the Chinese fairy tales I read as a child. They were well represented throughout the show, well choreographed, the music was beautiful, everything was well mixed together as one production. I really loved the Monkey King, because I read the story as a child, so I must say the Monkey King was the best part of it, but I liked the other stories as well."

Mr. Lee shared his feelings about the performance that showed the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China.

"Well I don't know much about it, I've heard about it, that they're persecuted because of their belief. But as a person who lives in America, I strongly believe we all should have freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Whether it's right or wrong we should be able to express that, and I really admire the performers and the organization who put this show together, that they express their advocation, through the show, bringing traditional arts on stage. I believe it made people understand much easier what they believe, and why they're doing this show."
