In August 2017, Autumn Moses was coming down with strep throat. Her mom brought her to the Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, for treatment.
Autumn’s two other siblings, Winter and Kristlynn, also tagged along and were accompanying her at the emergency room.

The three children seemingly looked worried and sad. That’s when Dr. Chima Matthew approached them.
Dr. Matthew decided to lighten the gloomy mood with an impromptu dance session. He played some music through his cellphone and began his zombie-like dance moves. With his good sense of humor, he quickly chased away the blues. Soon, the three sisters started joining in the fun!
He then headed toward the patient’s bed and turned toward the children’s mom, making a funny face. Apparently, the mother was recording this silly dance session with her cellphone.

Dr. Matthew ended the impromptu dance session with high fives.
Wolfson Children’s Hospital later uploaded the video of this dance session on Facebook with the caption: “Caught in the act of caring!”

The hilarious footage went viral and has been viewed up to 11 million times online. Needless to say, many social media users were in awe of Dr. Matthew’s dedication to his little patients.
“A doctor that reaches out to the precious kids is always an magnificent gesture. We need more Pediatrics doctors like this!” one Facebook user commented.

According to Action News Jax, this video caught the attention of American comedian Ellen DeGeneres, who reposted the video, saying, “Their sister was sick, so this doctor cheered them up with a dance. I love this.”
Dr. Matthew puts his heart into connecting with all his children patients, including those on their deathbeds.
“I’ve gone to a bunch of funerals for my kids and some people tell me, ‘Chima, you get too close you know, don’t let your heart get in it.’ I am ready to walk away from medicine the day my heart is not in it,” he said.
Way to go Dr. Matthew; you are a hero in these kids’ hearts!
