Mr. Majao Bata, a renowned Tibetan composer, has seen the show every year. He said, “The unique quality of Divine Performing Arts is that it is not only entertaining but also inspirational; it makes people ponder and awakens their conscience at the same time.”
Majao was a music instructor at the Central Nationalities College, and he is also the composer of the famous “Qinghai Lake”, a classical Tibetan song.
Majao said, “The show excels in both arrangement of music and choreography. The merging of Eastern and Western music is very good. Even the westerners around me were astounded, they kept saying 'Beautiful music! Beautiful dance!' That shows us that pure art has triumphed.”
Majao continued,“I come every year. But just like before, I feel that the Chinese Communist Party has totally harmed the traditional Chinese culture; blackened a pearl. And now the pearl is being polished again, shining beautifully, for the whole world to see.”
“Culture is material, but it is also spiritual. For instance, if one collapses emotionally, one is worthless physically. Thus, it speaks clearly of the importance of our spiritual aspect. You would find that when one's spirit has improved, everything else would follow suit. To be honest, I believe the Chinese New Year Spectacular is awakening our conscience; interrogating our conscience; allowing us to enjoy the beauty of arts and yet pondering life at the same time. Without conscience, we all are finished.”
