NEW YORK—A cocktail reception hosted by Scarlett Johansson and Anna Wintour that debuts a collection designed by 23 famous designers is a great precursor to Spring Fashion Week, and supports President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

The fundraising event Runway to Win, will take place tonight in the Meatpacking District. Designers will launch a collaborative collection of Obama merchandise that will be available for purchase at the reception and also online.

Designers include Tory Burch, Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, and Diane Von Furstenburg who may attend the reception at the Theory Shop at 40 Gansevoort St.

Wintour, who is co-hosting the event, is one of Obama’s biggest fundraisers, according to Obama’s website. She has raised more than $500,000 for Obama’s re-election campaign. The list of Obama’s major fundraisers shows a large number of celebrities and members of the media and fashion industry, including Eva Longoria and Grace Tsao-Wu.
