The daughter of Bill Cosby, Ensa, died at the age of 44, according to reports.

TMZ broke the news of her death, saying that she had a history of medical issues. She was possibly awaiting a kidney transplant.
“Please keep the Cosby family in your prayers and give them peace at this time,” Cosby spokesperson Andrew Wyatt said in a statement, USA Today reported. “Thank you.”

TMZ further reported that Ensa passed away in Massachusetts on Friday night, Feb. 23.

She worked as a yoga instructor a few miles from her family’s home, according to the Daily Mail.

Amid allegations of sexual misconduct against her father, she was one of his defenders.

“I’m a very private person and I’ve chosen to live my life with my family quietly but for my child, my niece and my nephew, and my father, I can’t sit quietly anymore. The man portrayed in the media today is not who my father is,” Ensa said in a statement last May, reported BET. “The accusations against my father have been one sided since the beginning, and when he tried to defend himself he was sued in civil court. I’ve seen the accusations become more horrific and extreme with time and I have witnessed my father’s reputation and legendary work be dismissed without any proof.”

Her father, she claimed at the time, was “publicly lynched in the media and my family, my young daughter, my young niece and nephew have had to stand helplessly by and watch the double standard or pretending to protect the rights of some but ignoring the rights of others and exposing innocent children to such appalling accusations.”

Ensa is survived by husband Martin McLean, parents Bill and Camille Cosby, and her siblings. Her brother, Ennis, was murdered in 1997.
