Daisy Ridley’s honesty on Instagram isn’t a fluke.
Two months ago, Ridley uploaded a selfie onto her Instagram page with the words,”I woke up like this #nofilter #nomakeup” across the image—a post that wasn’t 100 percent true.
The 24-year-old actress was honest with her followers when she captioned the photo: “3 of these statements aren’t true… Social media is great but also a bit scary cause what people post is the most filtered, most carefully chosen and cleverly edited moments of their lives. And self esteem is a huge issue for people around the world.”
She added: “My skin isn’t great so I don’t post no make up selfies, much as I’d like to; I have a trainer urging me on in workouts and don’t include all the times I say ‘I can’t do it’ and I don’t smile all the time but I like to share the pictures where I am.”
And continuing with her honesty streak, Ridley uploaded a photo onto her social media page that brought attention to that skin that “isn’t great” on Monday, May 9.
To celebrate reaching the coveted two million followers on the picture sharing platform, Ridley posted a photo of herself at the Vanity Oscars Party with the caption, “ALMOST 2 MILLION FOLLOWERS WHAT?! I’m currently sat writing an essay covered in spot cream drinking mint tea but no one wants to see that so instead here’s me looking all fancy pants at the post Oscars Vanity Fair pardeeeee!”
The “Star Wars” actress then decided to post exactly what her caption described—her in spot cream sipping on mint tea.
Ridley’s transparency was a hit with fans; one thanking the actress for “being such a great role model!”
