PRAGUE, Czech—Dagmar Havlova, wife of the former Czech president Vaclav Havel and now fifty-five years old, recently returned to the small screen.

Viewers of Czech TV watched her performance on December 14 in the movie Canadian Night, a dramatic story about a woman who tragically died while abroad.

The renowned Czech actress, better known as Dagmar Veskrnova among movie fans, became a wife of the then-to-be Czech president in January 1997.

Vaclav Havel, internationally recognized dissident and a leading figure of the so-called Velvet Revolution, also has close ties with the performance arts and has authored more than 20 plays.

To the delight of many, after ten years of being involved in charity and first lady duties, Dagmar seemed to have resumed her acting career with relish.
