TNT’s Cold Justice has been renewed for a season 3.

The series was set to wrap up season 2 on April 15 with episode 18, or the finale.

The network announced last month that it had ordered a third season.

“The series, which recently reached the middle of its second season, has become a Friday night hit for TNT, delivering strong demo growth compared to season one,” it said.

Season 3 will feature both new states and types of cases never seen on the show.

Cold Justice follows Kelly Siegler, a former prosecutor, and Yolanda McClary, a former crime-scene investigator, as they look into murder cases in small towns that haven’t been solved.

“Since the premiere of Cold Justice last September, Siegler and McClary have assisted local law enforcement in securing a total of 15 arrests, eight criminal indictments, four confessions, two guilty pleas and a 22-year prison sentence,” TNT said.

A premiere date hasn’t been announced--the network said early 2015--but based on season 2 fans can expect season 3 to start sometime in January.

The season 2 finale showed Siegler and McClary going to Vigo County in Indiana, trying to solve a case where a woman was found dead in a bathtub full of water with a clock radio in the tub.
