Chirlane McCray, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife and Chair of Mayor’s Fund To Advance NYC, released a public service announcement that called on donors to help raise funds for those affected by the East Harlem explosion.

More than 100 households were displaced following the building collapse earlier this March, with more than a dozen having lived in the two destroyed buildings in East Harlem.

Mayor Bill de Blasio had several of those impacted by the explosion join him at Citi Field this morning during the New York Mets home opener where he thew the ceremonial pitch of the baseball season.

“We’re all New Yorkers and we’re all in this together,” McCray said in a video she released on her Youtube page. In the video she encouraged everyone to visit nyc.gov/fund to help raise funds for relief.

To date, the Mayor’s Fund has received contributions from almost 400 donors and over $330,000 in funds have already been raised for the cause.

The PSA was shown at today’s Mets game, and is the latest in a series of outreach efforts from the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.
