Celebrity Roof Dog Gets a Rival From the Dark Side
Local celebrity Huck the “roof dog” could be facing a challenge from the dark side.
Huck spent so much time on the roof of his house in Austin, Texas that he became a well-known fixture for passersby, building up a following on social media and even gaining national TV coverage.
But now another roof-loving dog has made the news in Austin, named after Star Wars villain Kylo Ren.
Kylo was caught on camera by his owners high up on the roof of their house in Round Rock, Austin, reported Fox 7 on Feb. 4.
When his owners arrived home they couldn’t find him. After looking for a while they heard a sound up on the roof. Initially thinking it was just a squirrel, they finally looked up to see the 4-month-old puppy instead.
The footage shows the fearless dog peering over the edge as his owners call out in alarm.
On the other side of town, Huckleberry the dog has already become something of an internet and television celebrity thanks to his roof-loving habit.
Since he was 9-months-old, every morning the 5-year-old golden retriever jumps up on the roof of his home.
His owners say they used to get constant calls from concerned passersby, according to ABC, so they put up a notice to assure them.
“We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball!
“We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there!”
