Carl’s Jr. is currently testing out its foot long cheeseburger in Orange County.

The burger has the appearance of a 12 inch sub, with three round patties placed in between the buns instead of one lean oblong pattie, according to the Orange County Register.

The regular burger is $4.00 and the deluxe version, which has tomatoes and lettuce, is $4.50. Although the new burger has an interesting concept, its reception was not all positive.

“[The burger]’s basically just a few patties and ingredients mimicking a sub sandwich, which may end up not helping its overall appeal,” reported Foodbeast.

The foot long cheeseburger is not the first of its kind either. Sonic started selling a Foot Long Quarter Pound Coney for $2.99 for a limited time through Aug. 29. Moogy, a restaurant in Boston, has sold 13 inch cheeseburger subs for years, reported the Christian Science Monitor.

Carl’s Junior is known for producing high calorie burgers. The creation of the long burger could possibly mean that Carl’s Junior will top its own calorie charts. Their Original Six Dollar burger is an alarming 890 calories. The foot long cheeseburger could be double that amount.

It is still undetermined if the burger will sell nationwide.
