Sean Fitzsimons likes to make unorthodox requests for the hotels he stays at.

Every other week for the past four years, Fitzsimons travels from Denver to Salt Lake City, and to quell the monotony, he likes to make oddball requests for the hotel staff.

“I got bored doing the routine checking-in and checking-out, so I thought, why not try a random request?” he told ABC News.

He’s requested everything from a pillow-fort on his bed to print-outs of random celebrities, and he gets most of his requests fulfilled, having been only turned down once.

“It was the first time I asked for someone to draw a picture of what I look like,” Fitzsimons said. “When I checked in, the lady at the front desk looked at me so weird, and it got so awkward. I’m pretty sure I weirded her out. So, I was like, ‘I can’t ever come back here again.’”

Fitzsimons says that, contrary to some of the reactions of internet commenters, the hotel staff aren’t annoyed by the requests, but find them rather charming. The frequency with which he stays at the hotels means that he gets to know the staff.

“Many people at the front desk have told me they they thought my request was hilarious and that they had so much fun doing it,” he told ABC. “It makes them laugh and it helps take their mind off the daily grind.”

In fact, Fitzsimons says, the hotel staff will often ask him about when he'll give them another strange request.

“I’m like, ‘Don’t worry! I’m working on it, I’m working on it,’” he laughed. “It’s all in good fun.”
