Greg Lambrecht and his daughter Asia enjoy Shen Yun

MESA, Ariz.—Greg Lambrecht, a business owner in the wireless field, and his daughter Asia spent the afternoon at Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Ikeda Theater on March 2.

“I think it’s fascinating,” said Mr. Lambrecht.

New York-based Shen Yun’s website states, “For 5,000 years divine culture flourished in the land of China. Humanity’s treasure was nearly lost, but through breathtaking music and dance, Shen Yun is bringing back this glorious culture.”

“A Shen Yun performance features the world’s foremost classically trained dancers, a unique orchestra blending East and West, and dazzling animated backdrops—together creating one spectacular performance,” says the website.

Mr. Lambrecht was struck by the dancers’ vibrant costumes and the ease with which they moved across the stage. “Their dancing is effortless, and of course the colors are amazing,” he said.

Mr. Lambrecht bought tickets to Shen Yun as a present to his daughter for her birthday. Asia said, “I really like it.”

She especially liked the female dancers when they were portraying heavenly beings, “It was really pretty,” she said.

The music impressed Mr. Lambrecht, and he thought the digital interactive backdrops were very interesting.

Mr. Lambrecht was also intrigued by the spirituality of the performance. He felt he could relate to the stories and their mention of a higher power, saying it reminded him of stories he had heard in his own life.

He summed up the performance as “colorful, fascinating.”
