NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Mr. Larimore Foster has had some good fortune in his life. He founded a business 38 years ago that continues, and his two sons work with him in the business he owns. He sells tractor-trailers, big rigs, 18-wheelers. “We’ve been doing it for a long time.”

He felt it was another good fortune when Ms. Jill Gimmey called him and said she had tickets to see Shen Yun International Company for Valentine’s Day. “I said well when are we going?” And as a gentleman, he insisted on reimbursing her for the tickets.

They had seen art and music performances before, but “It’s nothing compared to this.”

With a kind smile, Mr. Foster gathered his thoughts. “This is very, I’m trying to think of the word; it’s totally amazing for us to have this.”

At the Tennessee Performing Arts Center at intermission on Feb. 17, Mr. Foster mused about Shen Yun’s rare quality. “You don’t see something like this. No, you really don’t.”

According to the company’s website, “through the universal language of music and dance, Shen Yun weaves a wondrous tapestry of heavenly realms, ancient legends and heroic modern-day epics. Shen Yun presents themes of compassion and courage with stunning beauty and tremendous energy, leaving audiences uplifted and inspired.”

Ms. Gimmey said Shen Yun is “Fabulous, fabulous.” She felt gratitude to the dancers, who are “very good, very talented, oh, my gosh!”

New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world. For more information, visit ShenYunPerformingArts.org
