Bristol Palin bought a five-bedroom home in Maricopa Town in Pinal County, just south of Phoenix.

Palin, the 20-year-old Dancing With the Stars finalist and daughter of ex-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, appeared to be the sole buyer of the $172,000 residence, in paperwork cited by The Associated Press.

She closed the deal in early December, purchasing it from Michael and Cynthia Smith, a North Dakota couple.

"I'm not sure why she wanted to buy that home, but we are real happy for her," Smith told the Arizona Republic.

The 3,900-square-foot, two-level brown stucco house has a tile roof, a landscaped front yard and backyard, and a three-car garage. It is located near a community swimming pool.

The house was built in 2006 in a Cobblestone Farms development. At the time it was bought for a bit under $330,000, according to the Republic.
