Brenda Gold, a 54-year-old math teacher, wants to become a cheerleader for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Gold got a makeover on “Live with Kelly and Michael,” after which co-hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan gawked over her.

“Look how sexy this is,” said Ripa, pointing to the stylish dress and other garb Gold was wearing.

“Coming from a guy who came from sports, you can cheer for my team anytime,” said Strahan, a New York Giants legend.

“I got really excited about that. That was really cool,” Gold told WCPO

Her students congratulated her on her first day back to class after the makeover.

“I was so shocked and I was very excited for her becuase I knew that she had been wanting this,” said student Olivia Shook. “When I talked to her on the phone a couple of days ago, she said that she was having a blast so I knew she was going to look great.”

It’s Gold’s dream to become a cheerleader for the Bengals cheerleading squad, the Ben-Gals.

She signed up for 10 dance classes ahead of the March 4 auditions, and attended some of the Ben-Gals workshops. She says she was already in great shape.

Brenda’s son Matt Gold told the Indianapolis Star that he’s not surprised of his mother’s latest venture, because Brenda “thinks of big ideas or projects, and goes at them head-on,” he said.

“She was probably watching a Bengals game and saw the cheerleaders and said to herself, ‘I can do that,’” said Matt, who works at Software Engineering Professionals in Carmel. “She probably can, too.”

Matt was also impressed with the makeover.

“When I first saw her, my jaw dropped,” he said. “She looked really beautiful.”
