De Paulo’s designs are typically fitted at the waist and hip areas and spread out like a mermaid’s tail at the bottom. Every piece is carefully designed and decorated with folds or embedded with crystals.

De Paulo, 30, first realized his love for fashion design after receiving his master’s degree in architecture at Northeastern University and changed his career path.

A designer of four years, De Paulo mainly focuses on creating fashion pieces instead of the mass production of clothing. He usually displays design samples at high-end fashion departments and works with his clients to get the best custom fit according to the client’s needs.

De Paulo also designs dresses for the red carpet and celebrity weddings in addition to other special occasions.

The 2010 Boston Fashion Week, which took place in Boston and surrounding cities, was held from Sept. 25 to Oct. 2. Among the 50 fashion shows, more than half displayed the work of Boston designers. The event not only drew attention from the local fashion culture, but also inspired many people to learn more about international fashion trends.

Workout Fashion, Chic and Comfy

Toward the end of 2010 Boston Fashion Week, Arturo Photographer hosted a photography exhibit and runway show at Boston’s Langham Hotel with proceeds going to the Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The Fitness Fashion Show was held on Oct. 1.

The fashion show was a combination of attractive models, fitness, and of course fashion. Attendees were able to enjoy food in the grand lobby, listen to live jazz music, admire photographic works, and watch Tyler Randall’s fitness performances. Lively and creative, the event was unlike any other fashion show.

The models dazzled in Lululemon Athletica jumpsuits and other fitness apparel. Chelsea, a 12-year-old accompanied by her mother, expressed her excitement about attending her first fashion show. She stated that the show made her realize that being able to look stylish in workout clothing was certainly a skill.

Lululemon Athletica, based in Vancouver, Canada, was established by Chip Wilson in 1998. Originally selling only yoga wear, Lululemon expanded into all kinds of fitness apparel and has been ranked second among the top 50 performing stocks by Business Week.
