The Australian men’s basketball team, known as the Boomers, are set to take on Lithuania in the FIBA World Cup on Wednesday.

The game is scheduled to tipoff at 1:30 a.m. AEST at Gran Canaria Arena, Las Palmas in Spain.

The game will be broadcast on ABC2 in Australia.

It will be available via live streaming through ABC in Australia and Watch ESPN in the United States, as well as LiveBasketball.TV around the world.

Lithuania is confident after winning the first two games, led by strong play in third quarters. The team outscored opponents Mexico and Angola 47-26 in the third periods, but guard Martynas Pocius said that the team has do to better.

“We have one day off to regroup, and now our opponents are going to be really strong,” he said ahead of the Australia game, in an interview posted on the FIBA website.

“We’ve played against both Australia and Slovenia (in the lead-up) and we know they’re strong teams, so we’ve got to go back to playing our game.”

The Boomers are looking to improve their current 1-1 record in the tournament so far.

Australia lost 90-80 to Slovenia in the opening match but beat Korea 89-55.

Australia is basically guaranteed a spot in the knockout rounds because Korea and Mexico are both 0-2 and are expected to keep losing.

The top four teams in each group advance to the next round. Angola is the sixth team in the group.

After this game, Australia will play Mexico late Wednesday and Angola late Thursday.

Friday is a designated rest day with no games being played. The knockout rounds start on Saturday, September 6.
