BART trains were delayed across the San Francisco Bay Area on Thursday over equipment problems.

The Bay Area’s 511.org reported there were “major delays systemwide.”

“On Thursday, July 25 at 11:51am, BART reports major delays systemwide in the Pittsburg / Bay Point, Dublin / Pleasanton, Fremont, Richmond, SFO, Millbrae and Daly City directions due to an equipment problem on the track,” it said. 

For alternate routes, the service said to go to this website.

BART’s Twitter feed confirmed that “major delay system wide in PITT, DUBL, FRMT, RICH, SFO, MLBR and DALY dirs due to equip prob.”

ABC-7 News initially reported the delay, saying the service is “reporting major system-wide delays due to an equipment problem.”

KTVU-TV reported that BART was having problems “in downtown Oakland” amid the equipment problem.
